ALEXUS WRIGHT

Born in Pennsylvania in 1998, Alexus A. Wright is an ultra-contemporary painter that is currently based in Pittsburgh, PA. Her body of work uses two contrasting visual languages (i.e, graffiti-like calligraphy atop of abstract backgrounds) to create balanced, large-scale paintings. After a successful debut at the August Wilson Center’s first group exhibition “Being/Seen”, Alexus continues to create paintings that are heavily inspired by her fixation with tagged trains, street art, vibrant color palettes, and gestural/color-field abstract work.
